Daily Activities (Mon. & Tues.)
1. Small Group Worship
2. Lecture (The Persecuted Church)
3. Family Worship
4. Storying
Summary
In our small group worship time we are still practicing Training For Trainers (T4T). The idea is to disciple by teaching certain Bible principles directly using the Bible for answers to questions. The lessons we practiced were on Daily Devotions and The church Meeting.
Dr. Ken Perkins gave incredible insights about the persecuted church. He has been all over the world in missions and now interviews believers from Muslim, Hindu, Buddha and other backgrounds. He then puts together information, statistics and stories of persecuted Christians from all over. He also includes many insights about our own western christian churches. It was a eye opening and encouraging at the same time.
Storying is a type of evangelism that is used primarily with indigenous groups in oral form. Basically it is telling Bible stories in order. They usually are told starting in Genius and ending up in Acts. Everybody in the bible class learns the stories and tells others about them. Once you get some believers, the missionary teaches in the book of Acts by storying in order to show what a church looks like. From here a new house or cell church is born. I like like this way as it allows the Word itself to do the teaching.
Prayer
1. God would pour wisdom, knowledge and understanding into our hearts and minds in order that we might be better prepared for missionary field work.
2. When we are persecuted for Jesus in the field, God would give us a strong faith to hold onto.
3. Leah and Trace as they transition to new and different things.
4. Families back home
5. Quechua people group in Chacas, Peru (future christian leaders)

Sat. & Sun. Activities
Saturday we went with another family that lives in our quad to Chuck E Cheese. The kids had a lot of fun. It was nice that all were healthy and we could get off campus for a few hours. Unfortunately, Leah had a fever once we got back. Stephanie cried.
Sunday Torrey and Trace attended small group worship. A family was invited to come and worship with us. It was nice because they could lead singing and play an instrument. None of us in the group can do either well. We were instructed to use a lesson from Training For Trainers. (T4T) This is one tool to use in the field for new disciples. It uses a series of questions, discussions and answers from scripture on the subject.
Tonight's cultural worship is Africa. The setting will be outside under some trees. African songs and dances will be used. The kids will learn a song to share with the large group and make instruments.
Prayers
1. Leah to lose her fever so she can leave the quad.
2. Quechua people group (persons of peace)
3. Time alone with God for both of us.
4. Search for homeschool curriculum for kids
Thank you for your continued prayers and support. Drop us a line sometime!

Thursday and Friday's Activities
Worship in Small Groups
Classes on Doctrines
Home Schooling Workshop
Immunization Clinic
Summary
In the Small Group Worship we practiced Lessons #1 and #2 (Assurance of Salvation and Understanding Prayer) Every thing we do in orientation is practice for what we will do in the field.
The doctrine classes were good to nail down not for just what we believe, but why we believe based on scripture. God word tells us the answers, but we have to show the people where in the Bible.
At the Home School Workshop, Stephanie got to look through all the different curriculum resources to help fine the best one for our kids. Each one has its pros and cons.
Today was the first set of shots. We will have a few more before leaving. Some get more that others based on where they are going. The kids got candy, balloons and face painting afterwards to ease their pain.
Please Pray!
1. Praise all are healthy now and can do things together outside of Quad.
2. Pray God will help us and our family adjust from being separated
3. Pray for Torrey as he is have some trouble sleeping at night. (stress related)
4. Pray for time management to accomplish reading and responsibility requirements
5. Balance family and God time
6. Kids transitions with everything
7. Quechua people group

Daily Activities
> House Church- Acts 15
> Training For Trainers workshops
> Home school workshop
Summary of Day
Steph and Leah attended house church while Torrey stayed with Trace in the quad because of his flu fever. Leah and Mom are feeling much better and got to attend school and workshops today. (praise God!)
The T for T technique is one tool that can be used in the field for multipling church movements. It is basically a series of intensional lessons to teach those who are willing to meet and study the Bible together in a small house setting. The process is designed for a 9-12 month period meeting about 3 hours per week. The goal is to train disciples to go out and train others.
Chosing a curriculum for home school your kids is a well thought out and reseached process. There are many to choose from and many factors to consider. Steph will be primarily teaching the kids and knows it you be both rewarding and challenging at the same time.
Prayer Focus:
> God to continue to prepare the hearts of the Quechua people group for the Gospel.
> Trace to get well soon from the flu and wisdom with Leah's wetting and focus issues
> All paperwork and documents prepared in time for Costa Rica Language Institute
> All medical forms, records and shots completed
> Transitions for both kids and Parents
Thanks to all for your faithful prayers and support! Let us know how we can pray for your needs as well.

Daily Activities
>Small Group Worship- Acts 14
>Prayer: An Integral Part of Every Church Planting Movement (CPM)
>Third Curtural Kid (TCK) Panel Disscussion
>Transitioning Needs for TCK's
>Entrust Credit Union Sign-ups
Summary of Day
Today Stephanie and the kids had to stay in the Quad all day due to illness. Torrey attended all the daily activities alone. Leah should be well enough to go back to school tomorrow. (Praise God). Trace still has fever from the flu. Steph doesn't have a fever, but is still not 100%.
The major points to take away was how critical prayer is in fulfilling the will and purposes of God. For the missionary, a comprehensive prayer network consist of prayer and ministry partners, personal intercessors, IMB prayer office, team prayer advocate and stateside prayer advocate.
TCK's develops a sense of belonging in both cultures, without having a sense of ownership of either culture. Elements of both cultures are blended, resulting in a third culture. The transition for TCK'ers is both challenging and rewarding. It's the parent' job to finding ways to help their children transition well.
Prayer Focus: Lord draw me closer to you so that I can become a better disciple, husband, father, son, brother and friend. I need wisdom, knowledge, understanding and patience today.
